What is e-ALS

The e-Advanced Life Support (e-ALS) course is a blended learning programme developed by the Resuscitation Council UK.

It combines:

  • Flexible online pre-course learning
  • A focused, hands-on practical training day

You’ll cover the essential principles of advanced life support, including:

  • Recognition and management of deteriorating patients
  • Cardiac arrest algorithms
  • Airway management and resuscitation techniques
  • Teamworking and leadership in emergency scenarios

What you’ll learn

Hands-On Skill Stations

Build and refine essential techniques, including:

  • High-quality CPR and safe, effective defibrillation
  • The deteriorating patient approach (ABCDE assessment)
  • Intraosseous access
  • Core resuscitation skills, including airway management, airway adjuncts, and waveform capnography

Simulation-Based Learning

Put your knowledge into action through immersive, real-world scenarios:

  • Managing the deteriorating patient
  • Leading and supporting cardiac arrest situations

Assessment

A final simulation-based assessment to consolidate your learning and demonstrate your clinical capability.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence and competence to respond effectively in high-pressure emergency situations.

GNAAS are required to pay registration and course manual fees to RCUK for each candidate enrolled on the course. In addition, GNAAS is required to adhere to RCUK timelines for candidate registrations. Consequently the following policy will apply in the case of candidate cancellation for any reason:

  • Cancel before 13th May 2026: refund £380
  • Cancel between 13th May 2026 – 10th June 2026: refund £0
