The Route

The GYRO 90 is the ultimate Cumbrian cycling challenge! You’ll start your ride at Penrith Football Club, before heading South, into the Cumbrian countryside.

The GYRO 90 heads along quiet roads through Newtown and on through Little Strickland and Kings Meaburn. From here, you’ll continue South through Newbiggin-on-Lune and Ravenstonedale, before passing by Pendragon Castle and beginning your journey North.

Heading North, you will pass through the village of Nateby, before reaching the town of Kirkby Stephen. From here, you push further North through the village of Appleby-in-Westmorland. You will pass through beautiful Cumbrian villages as you press further North on your way towards Langwathby, the proud home of our Cumbrian airbase.

From here, you begin your final stint South, back into Penrith where you receive your hero’s welcome as one of GYRO 90 finishers!
