Supporting your local Air Ambulance

ICL Boulby are one of our corporate partners, and serve as the perfect example of the long-lasting, mutually-beneficial relationships that we aim to build with all of our corporate suporters.

Colleagues at the mining company raised nearly ยฃ10,000 in 2023 alone with many choosing to make a donation directly from their wages, with the company match funding each contribution. The dedicated group have also carried out fundraising drives including a week-long coast-to-coast walk; clothing donation collections โ€“ and some of the team even stripped down to produce a racy calendar titled โ€˜Boulby in the Buffโ€™.

A spokesperson for ICL Boulby said “Being based in the North Yorks National Park, we understand that GNAAS is a vital lifeline for people living and working in rural areas. It’s a life-saving cause, so we do all kinds of things to support the charity with the company committed to match-funding anything colleagues raise.”

As a charity that receives no government funding and relies completely on the generosity of the public and corporate supporters, we thank ICL Boulby, and all of our fantastic corporate partners, for their support throughout the years!

“The reason we love to support the Great North Air Ambulance is very, very simple.

We have kids, we have families, the majority of us live in remote areas, not easily reached by main roads, knowing we have the guardian of the north above us is the best peace of mind we could ask for, we literally sleep better and feel more relaxed knowing you guys have our backs.

Over the years of supporting, you we have met so many people with fascinating stories, we are also very lucky to be good friends with some of the paramedics and it really is like knowing a superhero!

Couldnโ€™t think of a more worthy cause. Selfishly our little challenges keep us nice and fit, which surely is a good thing and will lower our chances of ever needing your assistance!

Keep up the great work and thank you so much for making us a corporate partner, it’s absolutely up there with one of my and my company’s best achievements.”

“The Donald Malcolm Foundation allows colleagues of The Malcolm Group to nominate and support local charities that matter to them. Our depots in the North of England were keen to support the Great North Air Ambulance as it provides a vital service to both locals & visitors who come to enjoy the area, which is quite rural. It is widely recognised within the road Haulage community that our area has some of the key transport routes in the UK network which is why we felt it appropriate to donate to such an important asset to our community.”

I chose to support this fantastic charity the Great North Air Ambulance Service after my little brother Matty Heath was killed in a motorcycle accident back in 2008.

The GNAAS had landed at the scene of the accident and did everything they could to help save his life but unfortunately it wasnโ€™t the case for Matty.

Since then Iโ€™ve support GNAAS in anyway I can, as they were there to try and help Matty so I will always try my best to help GNAAS, at the same time I always vouched to keep my little brothers memory very much alive and thatโ€™s what Iโ€™ve done.

My moto is โ€œeverything I raise helps to stop other familyโ€™s going through what we have in loosing Mattyโ€

“For many years now in one form or another PMS Fabrications, my colleagues and I have donated where we can to the very worthy cause of the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

A few years ago I realised the true value of what you do for the local community when a best friend of mine was seriously injured in an accident with an electric saw.ย  Your team attended the site at Cotehill and flew him straight to Newcastle, where he remained for some time with very serious cuts to both legs and arms.ย  Had it not been for your efficiency and attention I am not sure if my friend would be here today to tell the tale.

This is just one example of the many lives you save each year and is a testament to the vital service you provide.

When I was asked to visit your HQ at Langwathby, I met with Lee Salmon, who showed myself and a colleague from our drawing office exactly what your requirements were to enable the training and store facility to get up and running.

We decided on a new access stairway and high-level handrail system, and after a short while chatting I offered to help the GNAAS by donating the new items free of charge, as a gift and a thank you for the lifesaving service you provide.

I couldnโ€™t think of a better use of support and funding, and hopefully, this helps in a big way to keep GNAAS flying.”

The Great North Air Ambulance provides such a great service to our region and literally saves lives! We all know the importance of this vital charity in the region and without it, well it’s unthinkable, and the costs of running this operation are sky-high!

The Cumbria Chamber of Commerce was honoured to support the charity at last yearโ€™s annual Christmas meal with the auction and much-needed funds were raised.
I think itโ€™s important to point out that without all the great contributions from businesses across Cumbria and all the people who participated in getting involved in the auction this would have not been possible.

With the support we received with donations and the amount of money raised it’s safe to say this charity means a lot to a great many people.

Overall BTS Fabrications are very proud of our ongoing association with the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
