A corporate clothing supplier has kitted out the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) with a small but important piece of uniform.
Dimensions donated shoulder patches โ known as epaulettes – to the charity to help its emergency workers be more easily identified on the scene of an incident.
Mark Cotgrave, paramedic at GNAAS, said: โThe shoulder epaulettes are a vital part of the uniform.
โThe patches allow each team member on scene at an incident to identify each otherโs position, for example, doctors from paramedics.โ
Paul Lippeatt, account manager at Dimensions said: โWe are very pleased to hear that the epaulettes we provided to the GNAAS have been well received.
โAs suppliers of uniform to the emergency services, we despatched over 40,000 pairs of epaulettes in 2015 and were very happy to assist the charity with their request.โ
Mr Cotgrave added: โThank you to Dimensions for their kind donation, this will allow public donations to go further in the charity to keep saving lives.โ
GNAAS needs to raise ยฃ4.5m every year to continue to operate its three helicopter air ambulances. To find out more visit www.gnaas.com
