Payroll Giving is a simple, tax-effective way to make regular donations straight from your salary.

Payroll giving allows you to help our team save lives every time you are paid. The charity receives more money at no extra cost to you because Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax. This means, for example, that a £10 donation would actually only cost you £8!

Benefits for business

Setting up a Payroll Giving scheme brings benefits to companies:

  • Boost your employee benefits package. Make it easier for staff to support the causes that matter to them. Showing commitment to charitable giving can have a positive effect on your employees, improve staff retention and aid recruitment.
  • Improve your corporate social responsibility profile. Your CSR contributions reflect well on your organisation amongst stakeholders.
  • Be recognised with a Payroll Giving Quality Mark Certificate. You could become eligible to apply for the National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards.

If you don’t already have Payroll Giving in place, we will recommend a great Payroll Giving agency you can register with. Payroll Giving agencies send your employees donations to their chosen charities. We can also help promote your payroll giving scheme to your team.

Match Funding

Payroll Giving can also work alongside a match funding programme, adding extra value to your employees’ donations!

Team members are more likely to donate if they can see the value of their donation being increased, so boost team morale and kick start your scheme with some match funding. Your organisation can double or even triple the donations made to GNAAS and help make that extra difference. Your costs are deductible.

Your first Payroll Giving contribution is made on your next payday. However, if you sign up after your employer’s payroll has been processed, your first contribution will be made the following payday.
How much should I give?
Reveal answer icon
There are no upper or lower limits on the amount you choose to donate each payday - it's entirely up to you.
Can I donate to more than one charity?
Reveal answer icon
Yes, you can donate to as many causes as you like as long as they are charities registered in the UK.
Is Payroll Giving different to Direct Debit donations?
Reveal answer icon
Payroll Giving is taken straight from your gross (pre-tax) pay. This means the charity doesn't need to claim the tax back through Gift Aid, which saves us additional admin costs. If you're a higher rate taxpayer, Payroll Giving also means we automatically receive all your tax on a donation.
What if my employer doesn't offer Payroll Giving?
