We were called at 8.40am today to Penrith town centre after a woman had sustained burns to her hands and face.
We landed at Ullswater Community College and managed to commandeer a taxi to the scene.
Our doctor and paramedic treated the patient on scene before she was transported to the helicopter by North West Ambulance Service. She was then flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. After a 25 minute flight, the patient arrived in a stable condition.
Our team wished to thank the taxi driver for volunteering his help and waiving the fare.
