A Carlisle carpet firm is set to raise money for the county’s air ambulance by offering free carpets to customers in return for a donation.
Edenside Carpets in Carlisle will be holding a “pink dot sale”, where old stock will be offered to the public if a donation is made to the Pride of Cumbria aircraft, based in Langwathby, near Penrith.
Samantha McWhan, from Edenside Carpets, said: “We have a large range of old remnant stock which we need to clear and all we are asking is that a donation is made to the air ambulance for any items marked with a pink dot in our remnant department. We are avid supporters of the air ambulance and we hope that people will be generous in aid of this very worthy cause.”
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) operates the service and flies around 1,000 missions every year across the North of England. The charity needs at least £4m a year to continue to operate.
Edenside Carpets have supported GNAAS for more than ten years.
Mrs McWhan said: “My mum works in the theatre at Cumberland Infirmary so she knows the real value of the air ambulance and the service they provide.”
The sale will run until Saturday 5th April until the end of May.
If anyone would like to visit the store they are based at: Edenside Carpets, Eden House, Lancaster St, Carlisle, CA1 1TF.
