Woman breaks both ankles at Grassholme Reservoir


The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to Grassholme Reservoir in Teesdale at 3:50pm yesterday, where a woman had fallen and broken both ankles. The 57-year-old woman, from Bishop Auckland, was treated at the scene and the aircrew worked with a North East Ambulance Service community paramedic and park rangers to carry the patient from the dam wall to the aircraft. She was flown to North Tees Hospital for treatment.
