Woman breaks both ankles at Grassholme Reservoir


The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to Grassholme Reservoir in Teesdale at 3:50pm yesterday, where a woman had fallen and broken both ankles.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to Grassholme Reservoir in Teesdale at 3:50pm yesterday, where a woman had fallen and broken both ankles.

The 57-year-old woman, from Bishop Auckland, was treated at the scene and the aircrew worked with a North East Ambulance Service community paramedic and park rangers to carry the patient from the dam wall to the aircraft.

She was flown to North Tees Hospital for treatment.  The flight took 14 minutes.
