Win a golden ticket – your invitation to the Candyland…

SWEET-TOOTHED shoppers across the North-East yesterday got the chance to win a golden ticket to a charity’s candy themed ball.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service’s mascot Miles the Pilot Bear joined an Oompa Loompa on a tour of the North East to promote the charity’s forthcoming fundraising Candyland Ball.

The two characters handed out sweets to shoppers in Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Darlington and Sunderland and encouraged them to enter a draw to win a ‘golden ticket’.

The winner will receive two tickets to the ball, held at the Marriott Gosforth Park on Saturday June 15th, as well as being chauffeur driven to and from the event courtesy of Mercedes Sunderland. The evening will kick off with a drinks reception, followed by a three-course meal, live band and other entertainment, and the disco runs until 2am.  Nestle in Newcastle have donated edible table decorations.

ITV Tyne Tees news anchor Pam Royle is host for the evening and there will be an auction and raffle on the night. Special bed and breakfast rates at the Marriott are available on the night for ball guests. Tickets are £60 each and are available by clicking here.

Ruth Davey, event organiser, said: “We are really excited about the ball and all the sweet treats we have in store for all our guests. As well as having a great night, we hope to raise plenty of money for the charity.”

Last year’s ball raised £15,977 for GNAAS.

To win the golden ticket, visit the charity’s Facebook page and share the Candyland Ball image – click here to be taken straight to the image. Alternatively send a postcard to Golden Ticket, Great North Air Ambulance Service, Imperial Centre, Grange Road, Darlington, DL1 5NQ.
