Tickets on sale for Pride fundraiser

A BLACK tie ball is being held to raise money for the Pride of Cumbria air ambulance.

The event will take place on Thursday, December 6 at the North Lakes Hotel and Spa at Penrith, just five miles from the aircraft’s base at Langwathby.

Tickets to the Fire and Ice Charity Ball cost £30 and include three course meal, raffle and charity auction, fun casino, DJ and midnight snacks.

The menu for the Ball features locally-sourced ingredients including Cumbrian turkey and Fellside beef.

The crew of the aircraft will be present, along with other supporters of the Great North Air Ambulance Service, which operates the Pride of Cumbria.

All of the money raised on the night will go to support the work of the Cumbrian service, which last year completed 565 missions in the county.

Ruth Davey, event organiser, said: “The response so far has been fantastic – some of those coming along are treating it as their office Christmas party, and others are donating prizes for the raffle.  We hope that as many people as possible come for a great night out while raising vital funds for their local air ambulance.”

Ball guests can enjoy special room rates of £45.50 per person, based on two people sharing, and includes full English breakfast and use of the spa.
