Rally girls raise £1,300 for GNAAS

A SQUAD of pit girls and a rally navigator raised £1,300 for GNAAS at a recent race weekend.

Paul Vasey enlisted the help of promotional girls Stefani, Chelsea, Tori and Paige for the fundraising event at the Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup meet at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough, last weekend.

While the girls were collecting, Mr Vasey, of Ebberston, between Scarborough and Pickering, was running the Great North Run for GNAAS.

He raised £800, which will come to the charity, while the £1,000 raised by the girls in a bucket collection on course will be split between GNAAS and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Mr Vasey, who navigates as part of the VF Racing team, said: “I wanted to give something to GNAAS because I’ll never know when I might need it.

“I set the girls the task of beating whatever I got in sponsorship for the run. I was stunned but pleased when I came back and they’d collected £1,000.”
