Paraglider hurt after falling 150ft into Lake District fell


A paraglider has been flown to hospital after crashing 150ft into a Lake District fell. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Wolf Crag, east of Keswick, at 3:30pm (October 12).  The man, in his early 60s, and believed from the Cockermouth area, was treated by GNAAS medics, having sustained back and pelvic injuries.

The man, in his early 60s, and believed from the Cockermouth area, was treated by GNAAS medics, having sustained back and pelvic injuries.

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team then transferred the patient to the awaiting aircraft. He was then flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle where he arrived in a stable condition. The flight took 20 minutes.
