Northumberland man seriously hurt in road crash


The Great North Air Ambulance Service was today called to assist the North East Ambulance Service when two vehicles collided on the A697 at Glanton, near Alnwick, Northumberland.

The 67-year-old local man had suffered serious head, facial and hip injuries. He was treated at the scene and then flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. The flight took 15 minutes and the patient was stable upon arrival.
