Motorcyclist airlifted after serious M6 crash


A WOMAN has been airlifted after she sustained multiple life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle collision on the M6 South of Tebay. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 12:30pm on July 29. The 59-year-old woman was treated by the GNAAS doctor and paramedic team and North West Ambulance Service.

A WOMAN has been airlifted after she sustained multiple life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle collision on the M6 South of Tebay.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 12:30pm on July 29.

The 59-year-old woman was treated by the GNAAS doctor and paramedic team and North West Ambulance Service. The GNAAS team administered blood to the patient at the scene before she was flown to the major trauma centre at Royal Preston Hospital. The flight took 15 minutes and she was critical upon arrival.
