Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group has worked tirelessly to raise funds towards the financial future of both the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) and Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.

The group held their annual presentation evening at Middlesbrough Teaching and Learning Centre and was attended by the charities, boundary members and their families. Redcar and Cleveland Councillors, Sheelagh Clarke and George Dunning were also present to show their support.

A cheque of more than £38,0000 was handed to GNAAS for events the group had carried out during the year. This included a coast to coast fancy dress, a 500 mile bike ride and overseas challenges.

This, along with funds raised over the last six years puts the group well on its way of raising half a million pounds that will be split between both charities. The amount currently stands at £491,000, just shy of the huge milestone.

Mandy Drake, head of fundraising at GNAAS, said: “Boundary 500 have been such a fantastic help to us over the years, the amount they have raised is phenomenal. We want to thank the Boundary members and supporters of each event, because without each of them, it would not be possible.”

The Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group was formed in June 2006 and they have members from across the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria.
