Motorbiker seriously injured after three-bike crash in Teesdale


A MOTORBIKER was airlifted to hospital after a three-bike crash at Middleton-in-Teesdale, County Durham, on Sunday (July 17). A 62-year-old man involved in the incident had been thrown from his bike and sustained serious injuries. Once police and fire crews arrived at the scene, they realised the extent of the man’s injuries and called the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) into action at 1:40pm. The GNAAS doctor and paramedic crew administered one unit of blood and strong pain relief and treated the patient for two open femur fractures, before he was flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough within 13 minutes, where he arrived in a serious but stable condition. Two other people sustained minor injuries in the incident..
