Man survives 150ft fall from Lake District crag


The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to a man, in his 60s, who had fallen around 150ft from St Sunday Crag near Patterdale. The man suffered leg, chest and facial injuries and was treated and assessed by the GNAAS trauma team before being flown to hospital in Newcastle within 25 minutes.

The man suffered leg, chest and facial injuries and was treated and assessed by the GNAAS trauma team before being flown to hospital in Newcastle within 25 minutes. He arrived in a serious but stable condition.

The incident happened on Saturday 29 April.

GNAAS worked alongside Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team which helped to treat and evacuate the man.
