Man found lying unconscious on road


The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to an injured cyclist who was found lying unconscious on the road by an off-duty paramedic near Frosterley, County Durham, at 3:55pm yesterday (Mon). The man had sustained head and shoulder injuries and was cared for by the paramedic until GNAAS and North East Ambulance Service land crews arrived on scene. GNAAS airlifted him to Newcastle’s RVI for specialist treatment in 9 minutes where he arrived in a stable condition.  .
