Man airlifted from Ashness Bridge after medical collapse


Today at 11.10am we were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) at Ashness Bridge near Derwent Water in the Lake District, where a man, believed to be in his 70s, had a medical collapse. The patient was assessed and treated by NWAS paramedics and the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.

The patient was assessed and treated by NWAS paramedics and the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The flight took 12 minutes and he arrived in a critical condition.
