Man airlifted after two wagons collide


A 24-year-old man was airlifted following a serious road collision on the A66 at Warcop yesterday. Two wagons had collided, leaving the man with facial injuries, a broken arm and possible pelvic injuries.

A 24-year-old man was airlifted following a serious road collision on the A66 at Warcop yesterday.

Two wagons had collided, leaving the man with facial injuries, a broken arm and possible pelvic injuries. He was treated at the scene by a GNAAS doctor and paramedic, alongside a local BASICS immediate response doctor and the paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service.

He was flown to the major trauma centre at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, where he arrived in a stable condition after a flight lasting 19 minutes.
