Man airlifted after injuring chest in fall


A man in his sixties was airlifted with serious chest injuries after falling inside a building.


The Carlisle man was flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he was stable upon arrival.

GNAAS was called in at 1.25pm to assist the North West Ambulance Service.

The man had fallen approximately three metres.

The GNAAS doctor and paramedic team worked alongside the road paramedics before the man was transferred to the aircraft and flown to Newcastle.

The flight took 15 minutes.
