Male motorcycle rider injured after falling off bike on the A66


Yesterday on Wednesday August 16 at 5.10pm, we were called to the A66 near Barnard Castle, to assist the North East Ambulance Service with a male motorcycle rider, believed to be in his 50s, who had fallen from his bike. The patient had sustained hip and leg injuries and was assessed at the scene by the GNAAS doctor and paramedic team, before being flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for ongoing treatment. The flight took 12 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.    .
