Male airlifted after car collides with tree


We were called to Cragside, near Rothbury, Northumberland yesterday at 1.20pm where a car had collided with a tree.

We were called to Cragside, near Rothbury, Northumberland yesterday at 1.20pm where a car had collided with a tree. A male was trapped inside the vehicle and we worked alongside police and fire crews, as well as North East Ambulance Service paramedics, in freeing and treating the patient. The man, believed in his 60s, had sustained serious injuries to both legs and was given advanced care on scene before being flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for ongoing treatment. The flight took 14 minutes and the man was in a stable condition on arrival.
