Lakeland walker airlifted to hospital after fall


A WALKER was airlifted from a Lake District fell after fracturing his leg in a fall. The 57-year-old Kendal man was on Lingmoor Fell when he slipped and injured himself on Saturday. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the incident at 1:30pm. The patient was treated by the GNAAS crew and assisted by Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team before being flown for treatment at Furness General Hospital in Barrow.

The patient was treated by the GNAAS crew and assisted by Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team before being flown for treatment at Furness General Hospital in Barrow. The flight took 10 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.
