Jockey airlifted to hospital after falling from horse at Hexham


At 3.25pm on Saturday, the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Hexham Racecourse where a jockey had fallen from a horse and subsequently been trampled. The man had sustained very serious chest injuries and needed advanced treatments on scene by our doctor and paramedic, working alongside the on course medical team and North East Ambulance Service.

The patient was then flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
