Thanks to your support, we were able to attend the following incidents on Saturday:

At 12.40pm we were called to assist the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team on Pillar, near Ennerdale, where a man, believed to be in his 50s, had been injured in a rock fall. The patient was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to the bottom of the valley where he was taken to West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven by a North West Ambulance Service road crew.

At 7pm we were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) in Windermere where a young boy had been injured in a fall. He was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. The flight took 26 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.

Since the incident the boy’s grandmother has been in touch and said he’s back home and doing well.
