Incident Round-Up: August 11-12


Here are some of the incidents we attended this weekend:


On Saturday at 7.50am we were called to an incident near Brampton, where a male cyclist, believed to be in his 50s, had fallen off his bike. He was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle. The flight took 16 minutes and he arrived in a critical condition.

At 11.30am we were called to Satley where a man, believed to be in his 30s, had came off his motorbike. The patient was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being airlifted to the RVI in Newcastle. The flight took 16 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.

At 4pm we were called to Walney Island where a child was involved in a collision with a car. They were assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team before being flown to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. The flight took 25 minutes and they arrived in a stable condition.

At 5.30pm we were called to Otterburn where a woman, believed to be in her 20s, had fallen off a motorcycle. She was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team before being flown to the RVI. The flight took 16 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition.

On Sunday at 1.10pm we were called to Newton Aycliffe where a male teenager had fallen off a push bike. He was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor and paramedic team and taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough by a North East Ambulance Service road crew. He arrived in a stable condition.

At 3pm we were called to Esh Winning, County Durham, where a woman believed to be in her 40s had fallen off her horse. She was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team before being taken to the University Hospital of North Durham by a NEAS road crew accompanied by the GNAAS team. She arrived in a stable condition.

At 7.05pm we were called to Seahouses where a man, believed to be in his 60s, had fallen. He was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to the RVI. The flight took 20 minutes and he arrived in a critical condition.

At 4pm we were called to assist Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team at Grisedale Valley where a woman, believed to be in her 60s, had fallen. She was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The flight took 12 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition.
