Hurt walker airlifted to hospital after Great Gable fall


A walker was airlifted to hospital after she fell and suffered a leg injury on a mountain in the north western lakes yesterday (July 14). The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to assist Keswick Mountain Rescue Team at Great Gable. The GNAAS crew were able to land 50 metres from the incident and the female walker was treated for a fractured ankle.

The GNAAS crew were able to land 50 metres from the incident and the female walker was treated for a fractured ankle. She was transported to the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, in 14 minutes.
