GNAAS crew flown out to incident onboard ship off the Tynemouth coast

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called at 2.28pm yesterday and informed of an incident where a man was thought to have fallen from a height on board a ship off the coast of Tynemouth. The Coastguard needed an enhanced medical team to assist them and therefore flew to the GNAAS base to pick up a paramedic and doctor team before flying them out to the scene of the incident. The crew treated the patient but despite their best efforts, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
