Girl, 9, airlifted after banana boat fall at Budle Bay


A NINE-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital after falling from a banana boat. The girl fell from the banana boat, which was being pulled by a jet-ski at Budle Bay, Bamburgh, at around 6:25pm yesterday (August 23). The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to the scene and the doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated the patient for a broken femur.

The girl fell from the banana boat, which was being pulled by a jet-ski at Budle Bay, Bamburgh, at around 6:25pm yesterday (August 23).

The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to the scene and the doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated the patient for a broken femur. She given strong pain relief before being flown to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary within 20 minutes where she arrived in a stable condition.
