Elderly woman airlifted after fall in Whitby


AN ELDERLY woman has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a fall in Whitby on Saturday (February 6). The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 10.35am. The patient suffered serious head and chest injuries and was treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team and Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics. She was flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough within 14 minutes; by road this would have taken around 45 minutes, and she arrived in a serious but stable condition.  .
