Date change for 24 hour Lakes endurance challenge

Originally scheduled for June, the Lake District challenge now takes place on August 10th and 11th.

It involves a 24 hour mixture of canoeing, cycling, hill-walking and abseiling as participants make their way from Lake Windermere to Bassenthwaite Lake.

Covering 71 kilometres in total, the challenge looks sure to test even the most resilient participant.

Anyone wishing to take part for GNAAS must raise £500 plus a £50 deposit.

Alternatively they can self-fund for £300 plus the £50 deposit.

Mandy Drake, deputy director of fundraising at GNAAS, said: “This challenge truly offers a life changing experience for those taking part and we are excited to offer our supporters the chance to get involved. Not only are participants signing up for the challenge of a life time, they are also going to raise money for GNAAS in the process. It’s a win-win.”
