Darlington’s football kit is on to a winner!

Darlington Football Club’s new away shirt that supports GNAAS got its first showing this week. The Quakers played Spennymoor and the team scored 2-0 against their neighbours after Darlington took the lead in front of their travelling supporters on Tues 19. The region’s air ambulance is the club’s charity of the year and the team’s away shirts now bears the charity’s logo for the duration of the 2014/15 season. The club will also hold bucket collections on behalf of GNAAS at selected home games and support the charity’s events in and around Darlington. Mandy Drake, head of fundraising at GNAAS, said the partnership represented a “significant boost” for the charity, which needs to raise £4m every year to continue to operate. As part of the agreement, GNAAS will receive a third of the profits from all sales of the green and white away shirt. Mrs Drake continued: “The shirt is a great way of showing support not just for the Quakers, but also for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
