Staff at the Fat Face store in Carlisle has presented a cheque for more than £450 to the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).

The clothing shop decided not to take part in ‘Black Friday’, instead they created a ‘Thanks for Giving’ campaign which was about donating rather than discounting.

The money was raised over the Black Friday weekend when Fat Face donated 10 per cent of their net profits to the charity, rather than offering any discounts as many shops and companies do.

GNAAS volunteer Adrian Sweeney, attended the store on Tuesday to accept the funds from manager, Paul Robinson.

A total of just under £200,000 was raised by the 221 stores located across the country and will be presented to a variety of local charities over the coming weeks.
