Sweet dreams can come true at the Great North Air Ambulance Service’s (GNAAS) forthcoming Candyland Ball.

More than one hundred tickets have already been sold for the bash, which is raising money for the charity’s Pride of Cumbria aircraft, based at Langwathby near Penrith.

Ruth Davey, of GNAAS, said the ball promised to be a special event. She added: “We can guarantee a night of treats and sugary surprises, live entertainment and edible decorations that are set to delight ball guests.

“We are looking forward to welcoming supporters of the Pride of Cumbria to what will be a fantastic event.”

The event, which follows on from an earlier Candyland Ball at Newcastle in June will be held at Penrith’s Rheged Centre on November 30th.

The evening will kick off with a drinks reception at 6:30pm, followed by a three-course meal and live acts with a disco running until 2am.

There will be a selection of auction lots including a signed Carlisle United football shirt and a brand new mountain bike, as well as a luxury raffle, with prizes such as spa days and grand hampers.

The Willy Wonka-themed golden tickets are £35 each and are available on the GNAAS website by calling the charity’s events team on 01325 487 263.
