Can you spare some space?

The Great North Air Ambulance Service operates a very successful recycling service open to the general public, community groups and businesses and has done for many years.  This convenient service means people can dispose of their unwanted items easily and cost effectively, safe in the knowledge that it will be efficiently managed and money raised will be ploughed into a good local cause.

Our recycling vans that travel the whole of the region will pick up clothing, linen, books and mobile phones. We even provide office recycling services to businesses such as confidential shredding, mobile phone and ink cartridge recycling too.

What is truly exceptional is that 100 per cent of profits generated from this recycling activity go straight back to the charity. This is reassuring to our supporters as they know that even the most seemingly insignificant action really does make a difference to us, small action by many has a big impact on us.

John Ballon who manages the charity’s recycling company, said the service is now enlisting the help of the communities served by the air ambulance to take this one step further. He said: “The recycling has gone from strength to strength and we recently launched our community bag collection campaign, where we are asking businesses, community groups, schools, places of worship and individuals to ‘spare some space’ and become a community bag collection point.  We’re already getting a fantastic response so early in the campaign, we urge others to get behind us too.”

All we need is for individuals and businesses to offer some space to hold donations and promote it to their community to help us collect more. We arrange the collection dates and times to suit them and we’ll calculate the monetary value of their contribution. We’ll even provide promotional support if needed such as posters, flyers, social media action and website listing. Anything you need to help you promote your collection point.

So, if you could spare some space, we’d really love to hear from you, or if you are keen to find out how you can get involved either by becoming a collection point or by donating, click here to find out more or call 01325-308139.
