Today at 8.25am we were called to the A595 near Bootle to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) after a two car road traffic collision.

A female teenager sustained pelvis and abdominal injuries and a wrist injury. The patient was assessed and treated at the scene by NWAS paramedics and the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team before being flown to Royal Preston Hospital. The flight took 19 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition.

This week is National Air Ambulance Week. GNAAS is entirely reliant on public donations to survive and last year responded to 1042 call outs. To donate, volunteer or fundraise, please call 01325-487263.
