As you have probably gathered there is a significant amount of ground work, planning and coordination required to get the trauma team alongside the patient. Unlike raising charitable funds for a specific one off purpose, such as a build project, our challenge is continuous day after day month after month which is why new and continued support is essential. Having previously looked at just some of our inputs and activities we presume that you would want to know the result of our efforts.
- From our administrative endeavours the charity has remained legally compliant in all aspects of the business.
- The systems, policies and procedures have all been reviewed and where necessary improved upon.
- Providers of services, goods and equipment have been carefully monitored to ensure best value and cost effectiveness.
- Our lottery has continued to grow and become more sustainable as more members renew their subscription by direct debit and standing order whilst at the same time remaining compliant with the legal requirements of the Gambling Commission.
- The financial controls of the charity have undergone a full review and audit including systems update to ensure continued sound financial governance with scope for further growth.
- From our fundraising endeavours the charity has been able to increase public awareness and reach out to more potential supporters’ thereby increasing public donation that this year exceeded the operational costs and provided sufficient reserve to continue with the helicopter replacement programme.
- Operationally all clinical staff have exceeded their professional registration requirements.
- A further 10 paramedics and 25 doctors (not all from this region) were trained on our Helicopter Crew Course with a further 30 doctors and paramedics successfully completing the charity’s Pre-Hospital Anaesthetic course.

- The overall result has been to increase the missions flown, maintain the clinical effectiveness of our medical teams and improve the patients’ experience.
