Fundraising

Is the familiar interface between the public, charity staff and volunteers whose unbridled enthusiasm and dedication is unquestionable.

  • Approximately 500 hours are required to organise, plan and run each major event of which there are several per year.
  • Fundraising staff prepare and distribute all fundraising materials.
  • They will support and attend events arranged by the public.

  • On average fundraising staff will address 600 public attended events per year thereby informing approximately 18,000 individuals about the work of the Great North Air Ambulance.
  • And the PR produced last year exceeded 2,000 items of news in the local press, radio and television, reminding the public of the service we provide.

Fundraising

This continuous effort to raise awareness and hopefully attract funds is an integral part of our strategy and is essential if we are to maintain and improve the service.

As our first five year strategic plan draws to a close we are reassured by the results which clearly show the progress and outcome originally desired. The total income for the five year period was £20,173,391.00, £13,724,820.00 of which came from voluntary income/donation providing for 5,708 missions (charitable activities) at a cost of £12,295,869 the average cost per mission over the last five years is therefore £2,154. Note: public donation in its entirety funds our charitable activities/service provision.
