Volunteers are an essential part of the Great North Air Ambulance team. There are a number of volunteering opportunities for those wishing to be involved with the service.Collection tins are an essential part of our fundraising

Here are just a few ways in which volunteers can assist us:

General Support

This can be anything from assisting with office duties to helping out with general tasks to assist the team with fundraising. Some general duties can be performed at home.

Tin Distribution

Collection tins are an essential part of our line funding to keep the aircraft flying. Therefore we are always looking for active volunteers in different areas to assist with the placement of collection tins and where necessary collection of monies on our behalf.

Presentations

This could range from giving talks to schools, Wi’s, Rotary, Lions, Masonic organisations, U3A, Church groups….etc. Presentations are not only an essential way of generating public awareness of the Charity and increasing its profile but also encouraging groups to raise funds for the charity in their own way.

Forming "Friends of GNAA" groups

By involving friends, colleagues, other volunteers within your local area to form cohesive fundraising groups to organise and undertake fundraising events on behalf of the charity – with the assistance of a charity representative as required. Events can include anything from organising a coffee morning, to golf tournaments, fashion shows, supermarket collections, pub quiz’s etc.. Volunteers may also like to represent the charity at Country Shows or other exhibition events. Individual Sponsored Events

These can be anything from taking part in larger organised events such as The Great North Run to undertaking your own sponsored events based on your own interests… sponsored bike ride, walk, parachute jump. Volunteers will be trained and equipped to undertake volunteering duties. These are just a few of the opportunities available to volunteers. We would love to hear from you, so please contact us!
