Two airlifted in separate incidents

A man was seriously injured in a moto-cross incident yesterday afternoon.
The 37-year-old had sustained neck, shoulder and chest injuries in the incident near Stanley, County Durham, around noon yesterday.
He was flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle in a stable condition. The flight took just six minutes.
Later, a 49-year-old woman was flown from Bardon Mill, near Haltwhistle, Northumberland, after falling from a ladder.
She had sustained leg and pelvic injuries and was treated by North East Ambulance Service crew before being airlifted to Newcastle.
The flight from the rural location took just eight minutes and she arrived at hospital in a stable condition.
