Boy airlifted with serious injuries after road collision

A 12-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital with serious head and leg injuries after he was struck by a car while crossing the road this morning.
GNAAS was called in at about 8am today. GNAAS paramedics worked alongside road paramedics in treating the boy at the scene. He was then moved to the helicopter before being flown to the RVI in Newcastle in a stable condition.
