The Next Five Years...

As well as moving to buy our own helicopters, GNAAS has outlined its own objectives for the future. They are:

  • To continue to safeguard its independence and reputation.
  • To build the financial capacity to increase and improve the service it offers.
  • To seek out and apply advances in healthcare.
  • To ensure staff has access to specialist training opportunities.
  • To operate three helicopters within the region.
  • To supplement each helicopter with an emergency response vehicle for use when either weather or mechanical failure prevents air operations.
  • To provide an integrated twenty four hour helicopter, airplane and road vehicle critical care transfer service.
  • To develop productive alliances with other regional health care providers.

Naturally to achieve all of the above we must maintain strong regional relationships. From the media who promote us; the public who support us; the staff and volunteers who administer us; the ambulance services that call on our assistance; our medical crews who treat and transport patients; the emergency personnel who work alongside us and the hospital staff who receive our patients and advise us – our service is absolutely dependent on the communities in which we operate.

Overall the work of the charity continues to impact on the quality of care available in the region without cost to the local health economy, excepting of course the price of the telephone call to activate us.

To all our supporters and on behalf of those we have helped and those who will need our help in future, we thank you.
